Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Scranton, Pennsylvania area.

With city growth spurred when the Scranton brothers formed the Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western Railroad from assorted smaller lines in 1849, Scranton quickly became a steam engine transport hub. Such history is reflected in Scranton attractions such as the Scranton Iron Furnaces, the Lackawanna Coal Mine, and the Steamtown National Historic Site, occupying 40 acres of former rail yards and operating a steam locomotive through mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania. Downtown walking tours are offered by the Architectural Heritage Association of Scranton, with focus on 13 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. The Scranton Times-Tribune Newseum’s outdoor exhibits showcase artifacts highlighting history of the Scranton Times and the Tribune. Not far from downtown is Montage Mountain, a ski mecca with 21 trails including bunny slopes and double diamonds. Scranton’s Pennsylvania Summer Theatre Festival features drama, comedy and children’s theater, and the Ritz Theatre offers plays, musicals and live entertainment.
